2025 has been another inspiring year of creativity, community and printmaking at Leeds Print Workshop!
This year we continued to broaden who we work with and how we connect through printmaking. Our public workshops and courses welcomed a wide range of participants, from complete beginners to experienced makers.
We expanded community-focused programmes, working with young people, learners with additional needs, and groups exploring printmaking as a tool for personal expression and wellbeing, we did this through continued partnerships with Pyramid of Arts, St Georges Crypt and Printed By Us.
We expanded access initiatives, including concession-reduced tickets for those on low incomes, ensuring that cost was less of a barrier to creativity.
We took printmaking out into the wild with letterpress demos at Armley Print Fest and screen printing activities at the North Leeds Food Festival.
Our members took part in the 2020 Print Exchange again this year, creating an impressive 40 editions of prints using a huge variety of techniques.
Somewhere between all that creativity, we also tackled a seriously big sort-out of our letterpress equipment equipment with the guidance and expertise of Nick Loaring, of The Print Project – we’ll be sharing more about this in the new year!
It was a pleasure to continue our Graduate Award in Printmaking residency scheme in collaboration with the University of Leeds, hosting Hannah Prince as she developed a new body of work. We also took part in Leeds Open Studios, showcasing work by workshop participants and members and connecting with new people.
Looking Ahead to 2026…
As 2025 draws to a close, we want to say a massive thank you to every participant, tutor, volunteer, member and partner who has contributed to another brilliant year of print and creative community at Leeds Print Workshop. Your energy, generosity and commitment are what continue to make this cooperative such a fun and special place.
And now for the really big news… 2026 will mark a huge milestone for us – 10 years of Leeds Print Workshop!
A whole decade of presses rolling and squeegees being pulled!
We have lots planned to celebrate this achievement, including events, workshops and moments of reflection on the people and projects that have shaped the workshop over the past decade.
Over the coming months, we’ll be sharing stories, memories and highlights from our first 10 years, so look out for more information soon.
Here’s to another year of making, learning and sharing through print – and to an exciting anniversary year ahead!
