We’ve been having a look back over our highlights for 2024 – it’s been another year jam packed full of printmaking and creativity – our 8th year since we launched Leeds Print Workshop!
This year has been pivotal in us expanding our public engagement to work with more diverse audiences including young people, those with learning disabilities and vulnerable groups.
We have welcomed 406 people through the delivery of 75 public workshops and courses, 61 young people through our lottery funded Young Printmakers courses, 14 artists with learning disabilities & staff from Pyramid of Arts on our Prints of Possibility sessions and 25 people on Printed By Us workshops for those in recovery from complex issues such as addiction and homelessness. We’ve also engaged 362 people on private, bespoke workshops and at external events.
We’re pleased to also now be able to offer half price concession tickets on our public courses for those on various income based benefits.
Our members took part in the 2020 Print Exchange again this year, creating 40 different editions of prints using different techniques.
We delivered screen printing activities for families and visitors of the North Leeds Food Festival and we took part in Armley Print Fest in September, doing demos using their archive of letterpress type at Leeds Industrial Museum and we also opened our doors as part of Leeds Open Studios.
It was a pleasure to host the wonderful Ella Georgiou and Imogen Climo on our Graduate Award in Printmaking residency scheme in August and September.
A huge thank you to everyone we’ve met along the way. Thank you for your support. We also couldn’t do what we do without the support of our freelance team and volunteers too.
It’s not easy at the moment for independent businesses and community organisations so every course booking, visitor, like, comment and share really mean a lot.
Sending festive wishes from all our team who are now having a well earned rest, and we’ll see you for lots more printmaking fun in 2025!
