Chris Eastham is a Leeds born painter and printmaker who started her formal art training at Leeds Jacob Kramer college, (now Leeds Arts University) and completed a Fine Art degree at Nottingham Trent University.
Having joined Leeds Print Workshop just over two years ago, she has been developing her own individual and expressive style of monotypes which are closely linked to her practise of drawing and painting.
This year her portrait work has been recognised through her appearance as a successful contestant on the 2020 series of ‘Sky Portrait Artist of the Year.’ When asked which type of celebrity she would most like to paint, her response was clear; ‘Someone with good bone structure, and easy on the eye!’
Her prints display a clear love for the sculptural qualities of the head combined with the more dynamic qualities of colour and composition.
Chris has recently started teaching workshops here at Leeds Print Workshop, sharing her love of drawing and monoprinting for portraiture.
