Print Workshop Member & Tutor, Chris Eastham, has a new solo show coming up soon at Leftbank, Leeds.
Chris has a strong sense of draughtsmanship – expressed primarily through her work in portraiture and figure painting. In 2020, Chris was a successful contestant on the popular television program, ‘Sky Television Portrait Artist of The Year’ and has undertaken numerous portrait commissions.
‘Northern Soul’ is a collection of her most recent work exploring identity within the north which will be exhibited at Leftbank.
Chris has been exploring her own Northern identity through a series of paintings in which she uses archive photography of the people and places which form part of her Yorkshire heritage.
3 September – 10 October 2025 (viewing available during cafe hours, check Leftbank’s website for opening hours).
Opening Evening – 3 September 6:00-9:00pm, along with a guided talk from Chris herself
Alongside the exhibition Chris will also be offering a series of bookable workshops at Leftbank, see details below;
Monday 18 August 1-3pm – Portrait Monoprinting
Wednesday 20 August 6.30-8.30pm – Colour mixing for Portraiture, including use of Procreate for iPad
Wednesday 10 September 6.30pm-8.30pm – Portrait Monoprinting
Monday 22 September 1-3pm – Colour mixing for Portrait painting, including use of Procreate for iPad
The workshops are made available by the kind support of Leeds Cultural Investment Programme generously funded by Leeds City Council.
Chris will also be teaching our next Portraiture 5 Week evening course here at Leeds Print Workshop, starting on Thursday 18 September.
