Collograph Taster

Discover the versatile world of collograph printing with this practical introduction to the technique. Using relief inking methods, you’ll create prints with our fantastic range of etching presses and equipment in the print workshop.
You’ll experiment with oil-based inks, stencils, collage and texture to build your own unique collagraph plates and produce an exciting series of prints. There’s lots of room to experiment, play and see where the process takes you, making this a great workshop for anyone looking to try something new.
What experience do I need?
No previous experience is necessary! This workshop is designed for complete beginners, as well as anyone who has attended one of our monoprint workshops and would like to add a new technique to their printmaking skills.
You don’t need to feel confident with drawing or have a particular artistic style. Collagraph is all about shape, texture and experimentation, so simple marks and found textures can produce surprisingly beautiful results.
What will I make?
You’ll create your own collagraph plate and use it to make a series of unique prints on A4 paper.
Every print is a little different, making this a wonderfully unpredictable and rewarding process. In previous sessions, complete beginners have gone home with more than 20 prints, so there’ll be plenty to experiment with and take away!
