Screen Printing Christmas Cards

Join us on our festive screen printing workshop to make your own printed Christmas cards. Using a combination of hand cut paper stencils and pre-prepared imagery on screens you’ll print your own unique Christmas cards to send to friends and family this Christmas.

What experience do I need?

This is an introduction to the screen printing technique. The workshop is aimed at complete beginners, no experience is necessary.

What will I make?

You will produce an edition of at least 15 hand printed Christmas cards and will take these away along with envelopes.

Who is my tutor?

Kirstie Williams is a founding member of Leeds Print Workshop. She is a practising designer and printmaker, creating both textile and paper based work. She studied MA Textile Design at Chelsea College of Art in 2010 and completed a PGCE teaching qualification at the University of Huddersfield in 2014. She is passionate about bringing together a creative community in Leeds through the running and development of Leeds Print Workshop.

Do I need to bring anything?

All materials and equipment will be provided, this will include A6 size cards and envelopes, a range of ink colours and all the screen printing equipment needed for the session.Feel free to bring along images with you to use as inspiration, or you can use the reference imagery provided.

If I can’t attend can I get a refund?

We will refund you if you cancel no less than 14 days before the start of the first session of the course, after this time no refunds will be issued. By making a booking you are agreeing to our full course terms and conditions which can be found on our website here.

What if the course is cancelled?

We reserve the right to cancel the course for any reason (for example, insufficient bookings). We will endeavour to give at least 7 days notice if the course is cancelled and in the event of cancellation we will, of course, issue you a full refund.

Accessibility

Our aim is to bring printmaking to as many people as possible. By their nature, some printmaking processes involve an amount of physical effort. Leeds Print Workshop is based in a basement studio at Patrick Studios, a bespoke venue for artists operated by East Street Arts. It is fully wheelchair accessible, with a lift, larger than standard doors and disabled toilet facilities. We recognise that everybody’s accessibility needs may differ, therefore please email us at hello@leedsprintworkshop.org to discuss any concerns you may have before booking. There is one dedicated disabled car parking space to the side of the building on Rider Street.

Please note: we regret that, for safety reasons, only those over the age of 16 will be permitted to undertake the course.
