Jim started screen printing a few years ago after attending a course here at Leeds Print Workshop. He works as a graphic designer and combines this experience with his love of printmaking to produce his prints.
Screen printing is currently his main focus, and he particularly enjoys the challenge of getting the colour and registration just right. He likes working with intersecting shapes and pattern, often taking inspiration from mid-century posters and book covers.
He usually designs his prints digitally in Adobe Illustrator, which he finds perfect for moving shapes around and experimenting with colour and composition. Working within the constraints of screen printing also appeals to him, particularly the limited number of colours.
Jim is hoping to try some of the other printmaking courses on offer at the Workshop, with the idea of bringing more techniques and textures into his screen prints.
His work is available through his website, as well as at print fairs and markets, and you can follow his latest work on Instagram here
You can next find Jim at The Hepworth Wakefield Festive Market (weekend 2), Saturday 28 – Sunday 29 November 2026.
